History

Kanata is the creation of Bill Teron, a developer who purchased over 1,200 hectares of rural land and had a vision of building a garden city. Unlike other suburbs, Kanata was designed to mix commercial and residential spaces in a variety of unique neighbourhoods. In 2001, Kanata was amalgamated into the City of Ottawa.
